When I am travelling with my family, I don’t mind to spent some time travelling to a place where my son can have a good gluten free meal. While looking for that specific place you get to see places you would miss if you only stick to the area near your hotel. Like in Singapore we visited the hardlands to get to Glee, the one and only 100% glutenfree restaurant from Singapore. And in Tokyo we travelled about 40 minutes to get to an Italian restaurant with gluten free options. At the end we also found a nice place called ‘Little bird’ with gluten free food in a more popular area of Tokyo.
I like to share these spots as save gluten free food is important if you have a strict diet and they are hard to find.
A well known place in the immediate surroundings of Delft is The Welsh Bakestone. It is not in Delft but in The Hague (Scheveningen). 25 minutes by car from Delft center. You can park for free in front of it.
It’s a bakery and lunch room with 100% gluten free food and they also serve dairy free products. It is a heaven for celiac patients as they sell fresh bread and pastries, pizza’s (order this in advance to be sure they have it for you) and pies. Last time I took a quiche with me because I lacked time making one myself. It was good and reasonably priced.
They also have a little shop with packed gluten free products. These are more divers than the products you find in regular supermarkets. I go here every now and then to buy fresh food and packed stuff to have something in stock at home.
Look at the website for the exact opening hours. They are not open daily. The website is in Dutch, English and German.
