I like to laugh, I must say I am a cheerful and optimistic person, so in my life, I laugh a lot. About things which happen to me, about things I read, about the things the kids say…but it does not happen often that I have a laughter attack. That I laugh about nothing for more than ten minutes.
Well to get that feeling, I attended an open laugh workshop in Delft. Once every month you can be part of this experience in the Delftstede Building. Jan Gommans organizes these workshops.
I did not know what to expect. When I entered the space there were blankets and pillows on the ground. There were about 12 other people, strangers to me, who also were there to encounter the experience.
After some energizing activities we had to lay down and let the laughs come to you. I did not expect that it would happen but indeed I started laughing and it was funny to hear other people laughing around me. I made me laugh even more.
So after, I don’t know exactly, maybe 20 minutes, maybe more, I heard the last giggles and like a sort of cooling down we sat right up and got some tea to evaluate the experience a little bit.
Afterwards I felt extremely relaxed and happy.

–> note: from 1 January 2017 these open laugh sessions cannot be attended in Delft anymore. It is possible in Utrecht or Nijmegen or you should book an incompany workshop than you can choose the location yourself.
