That is what my friend replied when I checked in on Facebook while having dinner at restaurant ‘de Pelicaan’ in Delft. She is not the only one who is positive about it. I got this restaurant as a good suggestion a few times already from neighbors and friends. But I did not manage to try it until last weekend with no kids around ;-).
And indeed it was a very good. My husband and I took the “Pelicatezze plank” as a starter, a very tasty starter with bread and cheese, meet, delicious eggplant, union chutney, salad and tasty pumpkin.
We took the steak from the menu as main course which also tasted delicious. The wine was fine. We ate there in a cozy atmosphere with a lot of wood and candlelight. We skipped desert because of other plans but that was probably also very good.
As we have dinner in Delft quiet often, we know when a restaurant is good or not, this is a new one for our standard list of ‘must do’ restaurants in Delft.
Prices are a bit above average. But the set menu is very well priced. Rossio, another favorite restaurant, is connected to ‘de Pelicaan’. Two restaurants who serve fresh and good food.
Just like at Rossio, make a reservation in advance so you won’t get disappointed.
